Description

The first-generation Ford Bronco has become one of the defining icons of the classic SUV restomod movement. Built from 1966 through 1977 on a short, purpose-designed four-wheel-drive platform, the early Bronco combined genuine off-road capability with a compact, characterful body that has aged remarkably well. As the vintage 4×4 market has surged in recent years, turn-key first-generation Bronco restomods combining modern drivetrains with restored bodies have become among the most desirable and actively traded vehicles in the collector hobby — and the finest examples are built with the same level of care and engineering rigor as any top-tier muscle car restoration.

This 1975 example was built around a new Ford-licensed Dennis Carpenter reproduction body, eliminating vintage sheetmetal concerns from the outset. The exterior is finished in Ford Bright Blue Midnight Metallic with three clear coats, with a powder-coated underbody, color-matched engine bay, and all exterior hardware replaced with stainless steel throughout. A removable hardtop with reinforced billet rails, new glass and body seals, Raceline 17-inch wheels, and Toyo 35-inch all-terrain tires complete a presentation that is as clean underneath as it is on top. A Krawler Edge 6-point roll cage and AMP Research power steps add safety and convenience without compromising the Bronco’s purposeful character.

Under the hood sits a 5.0 Liter Gen II Coyote V8 managed by a Ford Performance Control Pack with a new ECM and engine harness, backed by a 6R80 six-speed automatic transmission and rebuilt Dana 20 dual-range transfer case. The chassis has been fully engineered with a James Duff 2.5-inch suspension lift, 2-inch body lift, custom long radius arms with built-in caster correction, Bilstein 5100 shocks, Hellwig sway bars front and rear, and a rebuilt Dana 44 front axle paired with a rebuilt Ford 9-inch rear — both by East Coast Gears with 4.88 gears and a Detroit TruTrac limited slip. Wilwood Hydroboost power steering and brakes, Wild Horses four-wheel disc brakes, and a custom stainless Borla exhaust round out a chassis built for confident highway cruising and genuine off-road performance in equal measure.

Inside, the fully custom interior features Tom’s Off-Road high-back bucket seats in gray weatherproof fire-resistant upholstery, a BC Broncos custom console with built-in Pioneer touchscreen, backup camera, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, Dakota Digital VHX gauges, an IDIDIT tilt steering column, Nu-Relics power windows, and Vintage Air climate control with rear console venting. A hardwired 4K dash camera, LED interior lighting, firewall insulation, and sound deadening complete a cabin engineered for the long haul. With a fully documented build process and just 1,559 miles since completion, this Bronco represents one of the most thoroughly engineered first-generation builds available in today’s market.
