Description
As the final year of the second-generation C/K series, the 1972 Chevrolet C10 represents the mature conclusion of one of the most celebrated truck lineages in American history. Clean body lines, a wide and welcoming cab, and an honest simplicity of design had defined these trucks since 1967, and by 1972 the formula had been refined to its fullest expression. The shortbed fleetside configuration remains one of the most visually appealing variants of the generation — compact enough to look purposeful, yet retaining all the presence that has made these trucks perennial favorites in the custom and collector market.
This example received a frame-up restoration that transformed a solid original truck into a refined boulevard cruiser with thoughtful custom touches throughout. The exterior wears a two-tone orange finish complemented by a raised cowl steel hood, chrome grille, one-piece side glass, and LED headlights — a combination of modifications that modernizes the silhouette while preserving the C10’s fundamental proportions. A finished wood bed floor with stainless steel slats and Rhino-lined bed sides give the cargo area a premium presentation that matches the quality of the exterior bodywork.
Under the hood, a 5.3-liter Vortec V8 with Holley electronic fuel injection, ceramic-coated headers, polished aluminum intake and valve covers, and a dual exhaust system delivers reliable, modern performance in a color-matched and smoothed engine bay. A 4L70E automatic overdrive transmission channels power to a 12-bolt rear axle with 3.31 gears, while an AccuAir adjustable air bag suspension with 2-inch drop front spindles gives the truck a controlled, low stance with the flexibility to adjust ride height on demand. Upgraded PSC power steering and front disc brakes round out a chassis that drives with confidence.
Inside, fully custom upholstery covers the bucket seats, door panels, headliner, dash pad, and carpet in a cohesive brown interior treatment with accented stitching. Classic Instruments gauges, Vintage Air climate control, modern audio, power windows, a chrome tilt column, and a folding center console with integrated air suspension controls create a cockpit that feels purposeful and well-appointed in equal measure. On chrome 20-inch US Mags wheels with Toyo Proxies tires, this C10 shortbed is a complete, road-ready custom that delivers genuine driving enjoyment with every mile.
